Thank you every one for participating! I'm having another giveaway this Thursday 11/3/11 so you have another chance at winning a skein of another silky yarn from my store. And while I'm working out the details of the giveaway in my head I decided to give something for my hands to do. A neck warmer from blue recycled sari silk yarn. Only after I cast on did I realize how hard it is to get a really good picture of the blue yarn with the shimmer and the fuzz. I some how seem to be able to only get one of them accurately, the blue, the shimmer or the fuzz. Any ideas anyone on how to get a good picture?

Here are a couple of pictures which don't do justice at all to how glorious it actually looks.





This neck warmer/cowl is knit flat in plain stockinette stich to do justice to the shimmery fuzz. And I think I will add pretty buttons for an extra dash of style.

New worsted weight silk yarn

Lots of lovely luscious worsted weight duke silk yarn has arrived. It's my most favorite yarn in the entire world. I'll soon be listing this lovely yarn on my etsy store. But before I do I want to share this scarf I knit with it. It is the silkiest yarn I've knit with and oh so soft. And because it is worsted weight, it knits up really fast. I wanted to keep going on an on with this scarf. Decided to make many scarves instead!

Amber Threads is open!

My store is finally up at http://amberthreads.etsy.com! So what better way to celebrate than with a giveaway. I have a new stock of solid colored recycled sari silk yarn and I'm giving away one skein to one person in a color of their choice.
